Sandie and her “babies”

Taken at St. Simon’s Island over the Christmas Holidays.   The pups were very squiggly and we had many laughs trying to capture a good image.  I think we were very successful in creating a lovely portrait to cherish for years.

Who knew fungus could be so beautiful?

I went for a walk in the Shade Garden of the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia here in Athens. Beautiful unseasonably cool day for the first of September. A little overcast, so there was soft natural lighting. No flowers in bloom to speak of, but plenty of textures in the leaves, deadwood, and mushrooms. These two fungi caught my eye and I had to photograph them.  Contact me if you would like to purchase prints.

When was the last time you had your portrait made by a professional photographer?

When I asked the grandparents of baby Kira this, they replied, “not since our wedding.”   Well, we fixed that while baby Kira was taking a break. Here is the result:

Time for an update!

I have been very busy with vacation and then coming down with the flu. Here are some photos from a recent session with baby Kira (3 weeks) and her family:

What could be sweeter than a mother holding her newborn daughter?

Take your Dog to Work Day

It was Take Your Dog to Work day on Friday (June 26), and I was asked to photograph the dogs who were visiting with their moms at the University of Georgia’s Performing Arts Center.

The first set of dogs I photographed were a pair of puppies:  Parker, a 5-month-old Yorkie, and his little sister, 5-month-old Chihuachua, LuLu.

Next was Miss Bella, a beautiful Chow/Corgie mix who was visiting with her mom in the Administrative offices.

And finally, there was Chewie, who tried to chew my nose, my camera, my ear, my fingers….He is a 2-month-old mix who has a place reserved for him on his mom’s desk.

It was a ton of fun photographing these adorable pooches, and  I got lots of puppy kisses!  I hope to do it again soon.
